Time is a great filter. Nearly to the day last year I listed half a dozen ideas that I considered either building or spinning up as self-hosted service. The ugly truth: I did none of it.
The feed reader? Well, just yesterday I mused about getting rid of the news. Maybe limiting my access to the feeds to a single machine is a feature. A Personal (Kanban) Board? To keep track of all the stuff I procrastinate? Would have been waste. And isn't Kanban all about reducing waste? Getting images out from the phone to some place not owned by big tech still kind of sucks. That is a service I would buy, provided I'd find a good one. Speaking of buying: I should move my repos from Github to either sourcehut or codeberg and pay for what it's worth. TiddlyWiki is still simply a great one-person wiki. And the bookmark app is still pretty cromulent for my purposes.
So, seems I should have taken my own advice: what I need more than anything else is focus. Which means being ruthless with distractions. No Hyperbolic Time Chamber Projects, scrape the makers bucket-list.
